The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that the team has re-signed the bound free agent contract RB Jeff Wilson Jr. To a one-year deal.
Wilson Jr. (6-0, 213) originally signed with 49 players as a freelance rookie worker on May 1, 2018. Throughout his three seasons with 49 players (2018-20), he appeared in 28 matches (five starts) and recorded 219 holds 974 yards (4.4 average) and 11 touchdowns on the ground to match the 28 receptions for 265 yards and four drops through the air. He has also appeared in one postseason competition and scored one reception for 20 yards.
In 2020, Wilson Jr. led the team with 126 holders for 600 yards and seven touchdowns, all of which are single-season highs. He also achieved his career highs at receptions (13), taking yards (133) and receiving touchdowns (three).
The 25-year-old Wilson Jr. from Elkhart, TX, attended University of North Texas where he appeared in 41 matches (29 starts) during his four-year career with Mean Green. Lunge 3,205 yards and 32 drops on 562 wagons, with 70 receptions adding 527 yards and two drops. Wilson Jr. finished his career third in school history in fast landings (32) and fourth in rushes yards (3205). As a senior, he started all 11 games he appeared in and achieved 188 loads of 1,215 yards and 16 touchdowns to line up with 24 receptions for 168 yards.
